If you haven’t seen our winter events guide yet, you’re missing out. It’s a complete guide to winter fairs, pantos, plays, exhibitions and lots of other events for you and your family in the run up to Christmas and right through to January. Events coming up soon include an evening of live pop music in Catford, a Goldsmiths Sinfonia performance of music by R. Strauss, Beethoven and Bartók, and Lewisham Choral Society’s Christmas concert. Until 7 January, you can watch Phileas Fogg travel the world in a Bollywood version of Around the World in Eighty Days, while The Albany hosts a family performance of puppetry and song, The Magician’s Daughter, until 24 December. See what else is on this winter.

  The Mayor says

Recycling for Lewisham residents is now easier than ever, thanks to a new waste contract we have agreed. Our new contractors, Bywaters, are able to sort many more items for us, including Tetra Pak cartons, crisp packets, shredded paper, perfume bottles, plastic food trays and aerosols. If you don’t currently recycle, get yourself a bin before Christmas by calling 020 8314 7171 and check our website for a full list of what can be recycled.
